Wooden Nickels are cool.
I wanted a method of advertising my part-time business, and business cards are, well, shall we say, boring...
I then went about researching other methods, and hit upon the time tested vehicle of the wooden nickel. Problem was, I didn't want an order of 1,000 - or 5,000, as I figured a quantity of 250 or so would suit my needs for a long, long time. The idea is to use them as giveaways at shows, or as bonuses when someone orders coins from me. So a short run was definitely in order.
Surprisingly, the best deal I found was on eBay. There is a seller who designs and produces wooden nickels for folks. His name is Fred Noeske and the eBay name is the
Ads-Tuit Company (eBay seller "3rdarmoredmom"). The Ads-Tuit store link is
here .
Here is the black and white design we came up with:
The cost? $56.40 for 250 wooden nickels (dark blue imprint), delivered. This works out to to less than 23 cents a piece.
I'm expecting my nickels to arrive any day now. I'll post a decent image of one when they arrive...
