The Money of the Bible by George C. Williamson (1894)

I added this complete book to the site. It is in HTML format, and you should have no problems with navigation. The link is on the Numismatic Literature Project box on the right or you can find it here. I plan on adding additional numismatic literature if there is enough interest in it, in my spare time. Appreciate your comments and observations!

Wooden Nickels For The Masses

Wooden Nickels are cool.

I wanted a method of advertising my part-time business, and business cards are, well, shall we say, boring...

I then went about researching other methods, and hit upon the time tested vehicle of the wooden nickel. Problem was, I didn't want an order of 1,000 - or 5,000, as I figured a quantity of 250 or so would suit my needs for a long, long time. The idea is to use them as giveaways at shows, or as bonuses when someone orders coins from me. So a short run was definitely in order.

Surprisingly, the best deal I found was on eBay. There is a seller who designs and produces wooden nickels for folks. His name is Fred Noeske and the eBay name is the Ads-Tuit Company (eBay seller "3rdarmoredmom"). The Ads-Tuit store link is here .

Here is the black and white design we came up with:

The cost? $56.40 for 250 wooden nickels (dark blue imprint), delivered. This works out to to less than 23 cents a piece.

I'm expecting my nickels to arrive any day now. I'll post a decent image of one when they arrive...

Good For Nothing Token

I received this aluminum token (28 mm) in a bulk lot of tokens and medals. Besides the obvious problem (It should be Its instead of It's on the reverse), one has to wonder about its origin, and its uses. The first possible use which comes to mind is to leave this in place of a tip in the case of bad service at an eating place. When I receive bad service, I just don't leave a tip. What do you do?
